Role Overview
As Manager of Strategic Sourcing, you will be stepping into a pivotal leadership position, empowering a talented team and shaping supplier strategies that drive the performance and growth of a global medical technology business. You will collaborate closely with departments such as Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Product Development, providing ample opportunity to influence key organizational decisions.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire a Strategic Sourcing team to drive their professional growth and create a supportive, high-performance culture.
- Design and execute sourcing strategies that align with business expansion, cost targets, and sustainable supplier partnerships.
- Deliver quantifiable improvements in cost, quality, service, innovation, and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Oversee supplier selection, qualification, auditing, and ongoing performance management, ensuring adherence to GMP and quality requirements.
- Streamline procurement workflows, implement efficient tools, and reinforce sourcing governance structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve supplier challenges and support budgeting, planning, and strategic functional development.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive background in Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain Management, preferably in regulated fields such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
- Capability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, promoting accountability, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- A track record of creating and executing category strategies that deliver tangible business impact.
- Ability to align procurement initiatives with broader organizational objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Proficiency in driving process enhancements and adopting sourcing tools to build team capability.
- Strong at both strategic planning and hands-on operational execution.
- Excellent skills in managing stakeholders and collaborating across various departments.
