Job Overview
The Manufacturing Manager role involves strategizing and executing manufacturing plans to meet production goals and delivery deadlines. You will oversee budget management, ensuring compliance with financial limits, and spearhead continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma and automation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement detailed manufacturing plans to fulfill production targets and schedules.
- Manage the manufacturing budget, guaranteeing operations stay within approved financial guidelines.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives and automation efforts to increase efficiency, improve quality, and enhance safety protocols.
- Report periodic performance metrics, project progress, and strategic suggestions to senior executives.
- Track KPIs and production data to maintain operational excellence and uncover improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders to formulate and promote a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy.
- Conduct Kaizen workshops, value stream mapping, and other Lean activities to reduce waste.
- Implement automation and Industry 4.0 technologies to upgrade manufacturing processes.
- Investigate root causes for production challenges and execute corrective measures.
- Lead the budgeting process, ensuring expenditure aligns with approved financial plans.
- Provide detailed reports on budget performance, spending, and deviations to leadership.
- Design and apply cost-saving strategies to boost profitability and reduce operational and financial risks.
- Perform regular financial assessments and forecasting to prepare budget adjustments and resource allocation.
- Develop, apply, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies as well as legal and regulatory standards.
- Encourage a culture focused on innovation and best practices in manufacturing.
- Regularly revise policies and procedures to incorporate operational changes, compliance updates, and industry standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 10 to 12 years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in managerial roles.
- Demonstrated background in high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing environments.
- In-depth understanding and success in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Experience working with automation, IoT, and Industry 4.0 technologies is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing equipment for the Oil and Gas sector is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ERP/MRP software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline; advanced degrees like MBA or Master's preferred.
- Certification as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is highly desirable.
- Project management credentials such as PMP are considered a plus.
