Role Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor position at the Winnipeg facility involves direct leadership responsibilities under the Production Manager. This front-line role is pivotal in driving team motivation, ensuring safety, and maintaining high production and quality standards that support operational excellence and positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute production schedules to meet established targets effectively.
  • Cultivate and enforce a robust safety culture abiding by health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct practical safety training sessions for staff.
  • Oversee team performance, ensuring accountability towards goals.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to foster employee growth.
  • Champion continuous improvement projects and manufacturing process enhancements.
  • Manage attendance via digital timekeeping systems and plan workforce requirements according to production demand.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or comparable managerial experience.
  • Three to five years of leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in unionized workplaces considered beneficial.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • Knowledge of the windows and doors manufacturing sector is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills including problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Commitment to hands-on learning to support training and mentorship.
  • Familiarity with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse work settings.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and perform well under fast-paced conditions.
  • Experience with UKG Dimensions or similar timekeeping software is desirable.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with ERP or data management systems are assets.
