Mechanical Engineer - MEP Site Supervision

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team based in Abu Dhabi. This role involves overseeing and inspecting HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and related mechanical installations on building projects. The professional will ensure compliance with approved project drawings, specifications, local authority regulations, and established quality assurance/control standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect installation works for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and related mechanical systems per approved drawings, project specs, and applicable codes.
• Evaluate contractors' shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, and other technical documentation.
• Monitor site works to ensure craftsmanship quality, adherence to project requirements, and conformity with approved construction techniques.
• Attend and verify inspections, testing, and commissioning procedures to confirm system functionality meets project criteria.
• Review contractors’ daily and progress reports along with QA/QC documents.
• Identify and document any non-compliant works, issue site observations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed satisfactorily.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and authorities to address technical and construction challenges.
• Confirm approved materials usage and validate compliance with local authority and project specifications.
• Prepare detailed site inspection reports and regularly update the Resident Engineer on project progress.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Resident Engineer to support project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in MEP construction and site supervision within the UAE environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in engineering consultancy roles.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting systems, and UAE codes and standards relevant to these disciplines.
• Experience with QA/QC practices, inspection procedures, testing, commissioning, and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination, and technical documentation skills.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
