Job Overview
This full-time Mechanical Maintenance Engineer position is based at the Vadodara facility and targets junior-level candidates with at least one year of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance. The role focuses on hands-on engineering work, ensuring mechanical reliability and plant uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance techniques in an industrial setting, specifically within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and pipelines.
- Promptly diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns to enhance asset availability and minimize unexpected downtime.
- Perform root cause analyses on mechanical failures and develop effective strategies to mitigate repeat issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance tasks including service logs, schedules, and failure reports.
- Work cooperatively with operations, process, and safety teams to ensure seamless and safe plant functioning.
- Provide support during plant shutdowns and turnaround projects by planning and executing all essential maintenance activities and documenting them thoroughly.
- Strictly follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines, fostering a safety-first workplace environment.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of maintenance protocols, practices, and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in preventive maintenance techniques essential for continuous plant operations.
- Proficiency in predictive maintenance methods aimed at early fault detection and prevention of equipment failures.
- Capability to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize diverse mechanical systems commonly used in large-scale plants.
- Understanding and applying root cause analysis to address and prevent persistent equipment issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills to swiftly identify problems and implement corrective solutions to reduce downtime.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining technical documentation related to maintenance tasks and procedures.
- Knowledge of safety and operational standards pertinent to the petrochemical and oil and gas industries.
- Effective communicator who works well within multidisciplinary teams to achieve operational goals.
