Job description

Role overview

This contract position focuses on quality control inspections and the supporting documentation for mechanical systems in a cleanroom setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out system walkdowns at the initial stage, during follow-up checks, and at final completion.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to confirm that project work follows company, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply and enforce relevant codes and standards for plumbing, HVAC, PVC, and PVDF inspection.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to organize construction-related tasks and resolve questions around work methods and quality matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and organize documentation that demonstrates the operation, maintenance, and effectiveness of the QA program.
  • Prepare QA paperwork and any other project reports that are needed.
  • Compile progress and status reports as work advances.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, superintendents, office personnel, engineers, consultants, and owner representatives to keep project activities moving.
  • Represent the company in pre-construction, design, project, and operations meetings.
  • Complete final QA checks on installed systems and equipment.
  • Respond to technical queries during execution of the project.
  • Review installations with the system owner and verify hardware and configuration against the design documents.
  • Confirm that equipment and the full system meet expectations during OAT/FAT processes.

Physical and site requirements

  • Work involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and fingers.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be required.
  • Talking, hearing, and in some cases tasting or smelling are part of the role.
  • The role may involve working near moving mechanical parts, at heights, around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
  • Work conditions are generally moderate in noise level.
  • Must occasionally lift or move more than 20 pounds.
  • Required vision capabilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, along with focus adjustment.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn, including eye protection, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
  • Ability to access and move safely through indoor and outdoor inspection areas, including ladders, stairs, catwalks, and uneven surfaces, is essential.
