Job description
Role Overview
This position is for an MEP Engineer focused on electrical and HVAC works at an Ahmedabad project site. The role involves managing execution, coordination, approvals, documentation, and site-level follow-up to ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and work from project contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and BOQ.
- Coordinate with architects and consultants to clear up any inconsistencies or gaps in project documents.
- Track and follow up on approvals related to manpower, materials, method statements, and mock-ups.
- Plan and execute day-to-day work in line with weekly and monthly targets.
- Raise resource requirements and ensure timely follow-up.
- Prepare surfaces properly before starting activity at site.
- Carry out work with attention to workmanship, quality, safety, and timely delivery.
- Use company assets and resources carefully and efficiently.
- Attend inspections with clients and consultants to obtain work approvals.
- Protect completed work until final handover.
- Identify snags, support rectification, and complete handover to the client.
- Maintain documentation such as checklists, material reconciliation records, productivity data, and project revision logs.
- Prepare and submit regular reports such as progress updates, material consumption statements, and vendor invoice certification.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of major HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, CAHUs, and FCUs.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of chilled water piping, ducting, and ventilation systems.
- Coordinate site activities with other MEP services and finishing teams.
- Communicate independently with clients in written and spoken English.
- Guide and support junior engineers when needed.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of project documents such as specifications, drawings, and BOQ.
- Experience in site coordination, execution tracking, and approval follow-up.
- Hands-on exposure to HVAC installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to coordinate with consultants, clients, and multiple site stakeholders.
- Capable of preparing and maintaining site documentation and routine reports.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
Additional Information
The role includes responsibility for planning, site supervision, quality control, safety adherence, snag closure, and final handover support. Coordination across MEP disciplines and finishing works is also an important part of the job.
