Job description

Role Overview

We are hiring a seasoned and highly meticulous MEP Estimator to support the successful execution of major construction and infrastructure projects in Doha.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle commercial submissions by preparing BOQ pricing and carrying out detailed rate build-ups and analysis.
  • Examine tender packages, drawings, and specifications to spot pricing gaps, inconsistencies, and potential cost exposures.
  • Source, assess, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
  • Create competitive project estimates while identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate project-related cost risks and determine appropriate contingencies and allowances.
  • Produce cost comparison statements, variance reviews, and concise management reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, rate analysis, and all related correspondence for future reference and audit readiness.
  • Take part in internal review discussions to ensure pricing decisions align with overall commercial strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

The ideal candidate should have 7 to 10 years of practical experience in MEP estimation, tendering, and budgeting for large-scale construction or infrastructure work.

Experience should include estimating full MEP scopes across commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Technical and Professional Skills

Strong capability in BOQ interpretation, cost estimating, and rate development is essential.

Proficiency with ERP platforms, estimation tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel is expected.

A solid understanding of tendering practices, contract terms, and project documentation is required; familiarity with FIDIC is an added advantage.

The role also demands strong analytical ability, numerical accuracy, clear reporting, effective coordination, and the discipline to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Work Style

The position suits someone who is detail-driven, commercially aware, and committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
