Role Summary
The MEP QA/QC Engineer is tasked with supporting quality assurance and control activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on construction sites. This role involves assisting in inspections, maintaining documentation, and coordinating testing to ensure all MEP installations adhere to project specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in conducting thorough inspections of electrical conduit installations, cable tray systems, plumbing and piping configurations, HVAC ductwork, and fire suppression systems, verifying compliance with approved designs and quality benchmarks.
- Participate in the inspection of incoming MEP and structural materials, including pipes, electrical components, motors, control panels, valves, and fasteners, ensuring proper handling, storage, identification, and certification.
- Facilitate coordination with external laboratories and third-party entities for essential testing such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), pressure tests, insulation resistance tests (megger tests), and performance validation of MEP equipment.
- Meticulously document all inspection findings and complete required checklists under the supervision of senior QA/QC engineers, covering various construction stages like pipe leak detection and duct insulation verification.
Key Interactions
Internal Stakeholders
- Collaborate with MEP and Steel QA/QC Engineers to ensure structural integrity and align reporting metrics.
- Liaise with Site Execution Engineers (MEP, Civil, Structural) for site-specific checks, structural conformity, and validation of testing procedures.
External Stakeholders
- Engage with Clients/Consultants during site inspections, coordinating audits and managing milestone completion walk-throughs.
- Coordinate with Testing Laboratories to arrange off-site testing and review material assessment reports.
Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
- Possess a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Consideration may be given to ITI graduates with relevant MEP or steel-related experience for entry-level positions.
- Basic English proficiency is required for documentation, with fluency in Hindi or the local language beneficial for site communication.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience is required.
- The experience should focus on supporting MEP inspections, managing documentation, and executing field-level compliance tasks within construction project environments.
