Role overview

Imagination is looking for a Midweight Designer to join its London creative team. As part of a pioneering experiential design agency, you will contribute to the creation of high-impact brand experiences for ambitious clients, including visual identities, exhibitions, live events, product launches and other immersive touchpoints. This role suits a designer who enjoys collaborative work, thinks creatively, and is motivated by building experiences that connect with people beyond digital screens.

What you’ll do

  • Apply a strong grasp of what makes communication and brand design effective, including large-format graphic work, digital design, typography, art direction and UI.
  • Collaborate with 3D designers, animators, copywriters and other creative specialists to develop ideas that work across print, digital, experiential and social channels.
  • Work within client brand rules while finding opportunities to elevate and extend the creative direction.
  • Present concepts and design solutions clearly and confidently to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Work alongside Creative Strategists to develop ideas and design responses informed by insights and audience understanding.
  • Partner with Planners and Producers to help define estimates, budgets and timelines for the creative element of projects.
  • Coordinate with production teams so that creative solutions are achievable, properly implemented and delivered to a high standard.
  • Contribute ideas, challenge thinking and help drive innovation within the creative team.
  • Support both internal and external presentation design.

What you need

  • Previous experience as part of a multidisciplinary design agency team is essential.
  • A strong graphic design background with an original and inventive approach.
  • Confidence in hands-on craft work, with exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Solid understanding of brand, experiential, environmental and digital design principles, from typography and art direction through to UI.
  • Awareness of current design trends, visual culture and new creative technologies.
  • Interest in both visual and technical aspects of design, with the ability to work closely with specialist teams to bring concepts to life.
  • Advanced ability with Adobe Illustrator, Figma, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Experience with animation, After Effects and motion design is a strong advantage.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and AI tools, and how they can improve creative development and workflow.
  • Comfortable presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, self-driven and inclusive in how you work with others.
  • Curious about client challenges and able to connect your thinking to wider cultural and world events.
  • A positive, adaptable mindset and willingness to work across multiple projects, audiences, sectors and briefs.
  • Willing to experiment, learn from outcomes and keep developing a distinctive creative point of view.
