Job description

Job Overview

The MRO Manager will oversee daily operations of Production (Line Maintenance), Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and workshops to maximize fleet availability and ensure all company and contractual standards are met. The role requires implementing SAMI Airbus standards and procedures on the shop floor to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high fleet availability to satisfy and exceed customer requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Manage rosters for over 40 personnel, ensuring sufficient manpower and resources to meet program deadlines.
  • Guarantee that technicians assigned to maintenance tasks are properly qualified and equipped.
  • Oversee the management and calibration of GSE, tools, and line maintenance workshops to support daily operations and meet contractual requirements.
  • Identify and escalate risks or opportunities affecting fleet performance or contractual obligations to the Technical Director.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational procedures, Quality Management System (QMS), and international aviation standards during maintenance activities.
  • Utilize SQCDP and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to monitor and improve Line, Base, and Workshop operations.
  • Manage corrective action requests (CARs) to prevent issues and ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Avionics Engineering.
  • Possession of a B1, B2, or C license issued by the relevant regulatory body is highly preferred.
  • Formal training on Airbus fleet, preferably on A330 models.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an MRO Manager role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong negotiation skills with proficiency in technical and aeronautical English.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft and component manuals, including TSM, MEL, IPC, AMM, SRM, and AWM.
  • Proficient with MS Office and knowledgeable of airworthiness ERP systems such as M4A, AMOS, SAP, and Trax.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma projects.
  • Commitment to the highest quality, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
