Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated professionals to fill the role of NDIS Local Area Coordinator (LAC) at our Taree HNEC location. This full-time, permanent role requires working 38 hours weekly from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexible work-from-home options available for two days per week. The compensation starts at SCHADS Level 4.1, offering an annual salary of $92,000, plus salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 and superannuation. Additionally, employees receive a rostered day off once each month.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will utilize strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks dynamically to assist NDIS participants. Responsibilities include helping individuals link with and navigate the NDIS, guiding them to make informed choices, collecting data to support plan development, and building participant capacity. You will also assist participants in exploring goal achievement strategies and clarifying the use of their plan funding.
Other duties involve: linking participants and their families to community and mainstream services or those funded by NDIA grants; engaging in comprehensive NDIS and organizational training to optimize participant support; and performing additional tasks as directed by the Service Area Leadership Team.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants will possess excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills. A background in disability services, understanding of Local Area Coordination, knowledge of NDIS, or relevant lived experience is highly valued. Candidates should effectively manage demanding workloads, meeting high KPI targets or caseload deadlines efficiently. Being adaptable, empathetic, resourceful, and committed to living the organization’s values of compassion, respect, creativity, and courage is essential. Preference is given to those with personal or caregiving experience related to disability.
