Job description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Perform examination of welds and materials using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), and Time of Flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Testing (TOFD) in accordance with code and contractual specifications. Accurately determine conformity or non-conforming flaws and report findings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Visual Inspections, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing, and Time of Flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Testing.
  • Oversee NDT operations to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Support NDT Technicians in the setup and calibration of NDT equipment, following established procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of NDT equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, for NDT projects.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections of NDT activities to identify areas for enhancement and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to NDT technicians and inspectors to foster skill development and knowledge enhancement.
  • Verify the identity of structural materials (e.g., plates, beams, angles) and confirm their conformance to installation drawings and specified requirements.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education
  • Diploma in a relevant field.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
  • Possess a valid professional qualification in NDT Level II (e.g., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT) for UT, PT, MT, RT, PAUT & TOFD.
  • Hold an ISO 9001:2015 auditor or lead auditor certification.
  • Additional Level II methods will be considered an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in quality-related work within marine engineering industries, specifically in jacket structure, ship, and rig construction.

Languages

  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
