Position Overview
Impost India Private Limited is looking for a detail-focused and well-organized Office Assistant to join our Chartered Accountant firm. This paid role offers practical exposure to daily accounting operations, tax filing preparation, audit support, and administrative duties within a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledgers, recording daily financial transactions accurately.
- Support the creation of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss accounts.
- Reconcile bank and cash accounts alongside vendor and client ledgers.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and handle follow-ups on pending payments.
- Assist in filing routine tax returns such as GST, TDS, Income Tax, and local sales or state tax returns.
- Organize and collect necessary client documents for tax audits and regulatory filings.
- Verify compliance of invoices, payment vouchers, and bills with relevant tax laws.
- Maintain physical and electronic filing systems for records and working papers.
- Coordinate client communication to gather documents and respond to standard queries.
- Manage daily office communications and reception duties.
- Handle petty cash, payment of office utility bills, and inventory of office supplies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related fields. CA Intermediate or semi-qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles within CA firms or similar settings.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Tally Prime, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or SAP.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel functions including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, along with MS Word skills.
- Strong numerical accuracy, good command over written and verbal communication, and a high degree of confidentiality regarding financial data.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and handle deadlines associated with tax filings.
