Role Overview
An experienced Occupational Health and Safety Inspector is needed for a major power and energy project in Hyderabad, Pakistan. This position focuses on overseeing and supporting health and safety compliance across project operations, in line with legal requirements, safety standards, and project-specific procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site visits to spot unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors.
- Check that contractors are following project HSE plans, method statements, and permit-to-work controls.
- Ensure that workers are using the correct PPE and working in accordance with safe practices.
- Track corrective and preventive actions until safety issues and non-conformities are resolved.
- Support incident investigations and help prepare investigation reports.
- Keep accurate HSE records, inspection checklists, permit logs, and related safety documents.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and contractors to resolve safety concerns and strengthen site safety performance.
- Encourage a strong safety culture and promote active employee involvement in HSE activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in a similar role, preferably gained in a consultancy setting, along with the ability to build trusted working relationships and contribute to positive change.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety inspection and monitoring.
- Prior experience on power, energy, transmission, or distribution infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience in site inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
