Role overview
The Online Sales Associate supports customers through digital communication channels such as chat, email, and social media. The position involves answering questions, resolving problems, sharing product or service details, and helping customers complete orders smoothly. Core duties
- Reply to customer messages and queries across chat, email, and social platforms.
- Share accurate information about products and services.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Process orders, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
- Review complaints, resolve them where possible, or route them to the appropriate team.
- Monitor customer cases and ensure follow-up happens on time.
- Help customers navigate the website and use products or services effectively.
- Work with technical teams when an issue needs escalation.
- Maintain a helpful and professional tone in every interaction.
- Record customer conversations and the solutions provided.
- Prepare reports on recurring customer concerns and ideas for improvement.
- Keep up to date with company policies, promotions, and product updates.
Qualifications and experience
- A high school diploma is the minimum requirement.
- A background in Business, Communications, or a related discipline is considered an added advantage.
- Previous exposure to customer service, helpdesk, or online support work is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills are necessary.
- The candidate should be able to think critically and solve problems effectively.
- Multitasking and handling several customer conversations at once should be manageable.
- Experience with CRM tools, live chat software, and ticketing systems is useful.
- Typing speed in the range of 40 to 50 words per minute is beneficial.
- Patience and empathy are important when dealing with customer concerns.
