Role overview
As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for shaping, improving, and governing logistics processes across pick-up and delivery, sorting hubs, ramp operations, and related network interfaces. The core objective of the position is to make shipment movement more efficient, dependable, and cost-effective from origin to final delivery.
You will work in environments such as logistics, warehousing, supply chain, e-commerce fulfilment, manufacturing, or transportation, and will be expected to improve workflows, plan capacity, and support scalable operations. The role also involves oversight of a team of roughly 20 to 30 people handling process support, coordination, analytics, and operational tracking.
Key responsibilities
- Lead process-engineering and continuous-improvement work across pick-up and delivery, sorting, ramp, and linehaul interface activities.
- Review and redesign logistics workflows to improve speed, accuracy, efficiency, and cost outcomes.
- Create, refine, and standardize SOPs, process controls, and operating methods across logistics points.
- Track operational KPIs such as service level, transit time, throughput, cost performance, and loss/damage, then turn findings into improvement plans.
- Pinpoint bottlenecks in sorting, routing, dispatch, and ramp-handling activities and implement durable fixes.
- Support capacity planning and resource allocation, including manpower planning, equipment use, and volume balancing.
- Strengthen network efficiency and routing approaches across first mile, hub operations, and linehaul integration.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and analytics tools for performance management.
- Drive improvement programs using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma-style methods where relevant.
- Maintain adherence to safety, quality, and governance requirements across operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align service, cost, and scalability goals.
- Assist with documentation, standardization, and capability-building initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, supply chain, e-commerce fulfilment, or transportation settings is expected.
- Strong experience in process improvement, industrial engineering, or operational excellence work is needed.
- Prior exposure to large-scale logistics operations such as pick-up and delivery, sorting hubs, fulfilment centres, or transportation networks is important.
- A solid understanding of end-to-end logistics flow, including first mile, middle mile, and last mile, is required.
- The role calls for strong analytical ability, process mapping skills, and structured problem-solving.
- Experience managing KPIs, improving performance, and working with operational analytics is needed.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous-improvement methods is an advantage.
- You should have strong stakeholder-management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and structured thinking are essential.
What you can expect
- An attractive compensation package that includes a contractual bonus and tuition assistance.
- Career advancement opportunities through internal promotions, job rotations, training, leadership programmes, and cross-functional projects.
- 24/7 access to learning platforms at no additional cost.
- Work-life balance support, including a hybrid working arrangement with work-from-home and office-based work.
- Health and wellness support, employee assistance resources, and recognition programmes.
- Special employee discounts on shipping, travel, and other offerings.
