Specsavers Ballina is seeking an ambitious and highly driven Optometrist to step into the role of Optometry Director and Store Partner. About the Store

The Ballina store has welcomed customers since 2014 and is supported by a team of 16 people, including resident optometrists and a lab manager. It also provides audiology services several days each week and operates as a spoke store to Letterkenny. The branch was refreshed in November 2024, includes Project Boost, and is fitted with the latest equipment.

About the Role

The incoming partner will join forces with a highly experienced retail partner who has worked in the business for many years and has led the Ballina location since it opened. The ideal candidate will place customers and the existing team at the centre of every decision, bring strong leadership, embrace change, and help take the store to the next level.

Your focus will be on inspiring and guiding the team, supporting development, and creating long-term career opportunities. You will also be expected to become an active presence in the community, help drive growth, and widen the store’s customer base. With strong leadership and strategic direction, the business has significant room for increased profitability and broader market reach.

Location

Ballina is a lively market town in an attractive setting between Sligo and Castlebar. It offers a mix of independent shops, cafes, pubs, and nightlife, along with a family-friendly and commuter-friendly atmosphere. The area also attracts seasonal visitors.

Requirements

You must be a qualified Optometrist registered with CORU. The role calls for someone with drive, enthusiasm, and a commitment to maintaining a customer-first culture and the high standards of this successful store.

You should be capable of delivering both excellent patient care and strong professional standards, while building good relationships with the current team and the wider local community. Strong attention to detail is essential.
