Paste Plant Operator

About the role

This position is responsible for running the paste plant safely and efficiently so paste fill activities can continue without interruption. The role also involves checking, maintaining, and diagnosing issues within the paste reticulation network, as well as managing surface-side tasks connected to the underground system, such as flushing lines and operating paste diverters remotely.

You will work with underground crews to make sure paste is delivered accurately and on time to the correct stopes. A key part of the job is keeping clear records of output, system pressure readings, and overall plant performance for tracking and reporting. The role also includes responding quickly to faults in the distribution system to reduce downtime. In addition, you will operate a Komatsu WA 500 Front End Wheel Loader as required and support a strong safety culture by following site and regulatory requirements at all times.

Other tasks may be assigned by the Senior Paste Plant Operator or the Paste Fill Coordinator.

About you

The ideal candidate has prior experience working in paste plant operations and/or reticulation systems. A Paste Plant Operator ticket is preferred, along with a valid Front End Loader ticket and a current manual C Class driver’s licence. You must be able to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening, and be willing to work at heights.

You should either hold, or be prepared to obtain, a Dangerous Goods Security Card and a National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months.
