About the Role

Westview Healthcare Center is looking for a Payroll and Human Resources Professional to become an integral part of their leadership team. This full-time role offers a competitive starting annual salary of $77,000 and is based in Center, IN. The position involves managing payroll processing with precision, supporting various human resources tasks, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, maintaining personnel records, coordinating training and compliance activities, and working alongside facility leadership to provide comprehensive employee support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct new employee orientation and onboarding procedures.
  • Support recruitment activities including candidate screening, interviewing, and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and documentation.
  • Manage employment lifecycle events such as hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, life and disability insurance, PTO, leaves, and assistance programs.
  • Coordinate required employee training, in-services, compliance tracking, health screenings, and safety initiatives.
  • Document fire and disaster drills along with compliance-related activities.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner and leadership on employee relations and complex human resources issues.
  • Assist in workplace investigations, workers' compensation claims, incident reports, and regulatory survey preparations.
  • Conduct routine HR audits and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance.
  • Accurately process payroll on schedule including reviewing and reconciling payroll, handling manual and final checks, managing garnishments, deductions, benefits changes, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Prepare payroll allocation and financial reports related to payroll activities.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve any discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to employees, residents, families, and visitors.
  • Assist facility leadership with administrative projects and participate in state and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company policies and perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of administrative experience, ideally in human resources or payroll.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Effective communication and exceptional customer service capabilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office applications, and payroll/HR systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of two years of college coursework.
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings such as skilled nursing or long-term care.
  • Hands-on experience processing payroll and managing employee benefits.
