Job description
Position Overview
Join the Payroll team at Churches of Christ in Queensland, located at the Kenmore head office, supporting over 4,000 employees in Queensland and Victoria. The Payroll Officer role involves managing accurate, on-time payroll processing within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.
Core Responsibilities
- Process fortnightly payroll transactions promptly and accurately.
- Handle administrative tasks including onboarding new employees, updating employee records, processing transfers, salary adjustments, and terminations.
- Maintain precise payroll records and ensure all data integrity.
- Manage payroll deductions such as superannuation, salary packaging, and tax requirements.
- Address and resolve payroll queries through the established ticketing system.
- Assist with off-cycle and advance payment runs as needed.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements to enhance payroll service quality.
- Collaborate effectively with organizational stakeholders to provide timely and professional payroll support.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous payroll or payroll-related experience utilizing recognised payroll software.
- Good understanding of payroll workflows and employment agreements, including Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to engage with stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience within medium to large organisations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Aurion and/or UKG Dimensions systems is a plus but not mandatory.
