Physician Consultant

Overview

This is a remote contract role for a general physician to help assess AI-generated clinical responses. The position is offered by Mercor, a company that connects specialized creative and technical professionals with AI research teams.

Role details

Compensation is set at $150 per hour. The assignment runs for 6 weeks and requires a commitment of more than 20 hours each week. Candidates should be available to begin immediately.

What you will do

• Review AI model outputs for medical accuracy, patient safety, and alignment with accepted clinical practice.
• Compare diagnoses, reasoning, and care suggestions with expert medical judgment and assign scores.
• Provide written feedback that is structured, clear, and focused on safety and clinical soundness.
• Identify mistakes or weak points that could create risk for patients.
• Work with AI researchers in an asynchronous setup to help improve model quality.

Required background

• At least 2 years of hands-on clinical experience in the United States.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: primary care, internal medicine, public health, hospital-based practice, or mental health.
• An MD or DO degree from a well-regarded medical school.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly in writing.
• Must be based in the United States, the United Kingdom, or Canada.
