Job description
Company overview
KKR is a major global investment firm focused on alternative asset management, capital markets, and insurance solutions. The firm follows a patient, disciplined investing style, works with highly skilled professionals, and aims to support growth in its portfolio companies and the communities around them. KKR backs funds that invest across private equity, credit, and real assets, and also has strategic partners that run hedge fund strategies. Its insurance businesses provide retirement, life, and reinsurance products through Global Atlantic Financial Group. Any mention of KKR’s investments may also refer to the activities of these sponsored funds and insurance businesses.
About KKR Private Equity
Private equity is where KKR’s history began, and the platform now manages more than $200 billion in assets. Drawing on a long track record and experience from hundreds of transactions, the team focuses on spotting strong businesses and helping them reach their next stage of growth. The goal is to create value for investors, employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
Role summary
As a Private Equity Intern in Frankfurt, you will contribute across the full investment lifecycle. The role includes identifying and reviewing potential deals, sharing opportunities with the wider team, carrying out due diligence, and helping implement value-creation initiatives within portfolio companies.
Because the team usually works in a compact structure, interns are expected to take on meaningful responsibility from the start. The program is designed to build a broad understanding of investing through hands-on exposure, training, and mentorship. You will also have the chance to interact with colleagues across KKR’s business areas as well as external market participants such as bankers and advisers.
Responsibilities
- Carry out commercial, operational, and related analyses to support investment decision-making.
- Build and review financial models and valuation work for companies under consideration.
- Support the execution of transactions.
- Research themes, sectors, and industries to inform investment work.
- Prepare internal decision memos and discussion materials.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies and operating partners.
Qualifications
KKR is seeking candidates with strong academic performance, active involvement beyond the classroom, natural curiosity, eagerness to learn, a sincere interest in businesses and investing, and a collaborative mindset with a strong cultural fit. Previous internship or other relevant experience is helpful during selection.
Application criteria

- You should be able to work onsite in Frankfurt on most days of the week.
