This foundational role offers a unique opportunity to influence our journey from the ground up.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Processing Supervisor to lead shift-based processing crews, ensuring safe and efficient operations that meet production targets. Reporting to the Processing Superintendent and collaborating closely with the Senior Metallurgist, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations across crushing, milling, gravity and intensive leach, flotation, concentrate handling, tailings placement, and water management.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily production activities to meet or exceed targets across various processing stages including crushing, milling, flotation, and tailings management.
- Manage the plant to achieve budgeted gold production while maintaining equipment integrity and operational continuity.
- Adjust plans and schedules promptly to respond to evolving plant conditions.
- Monitor reagent and consumable usage to stay within budget and ensure accurate accounting of materials.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor your team, providing technical guidance and fostering alignment with plant goals.
- Ensure all crew members receive necessary training to perform their duties competently.
- Establish clear expectations, give feedback, and manage team performance consistently and fairly.
- Create a positive, cooperative work environment that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with site policies.
- Participate in incident investigations and oversee corrective action implementation.
- Maintain transparent communication within your crew and with maintenance and technical teams.
- Support commissioning and operation ramp-up phases as the site becomes fully operational.
- Champion workplace health and safety by consistently enforcing procedures and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Ensure all incidents are promptly reported and assist in maintaining environmental compliance.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven background in metalliferous mineral processing with experience growing into supervisory or leadership positions.
- Strong capability to lead and develop frontline teams within a continuous, shift-based production environment.
- Excellent operational decision-making skills and practical problem-solving abilities in dynamic plant settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and crew wellbeing.
- Exceptional communication skills and aptitude for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn New Zealand mining health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Employee Benefits
- Competitive salary and remuneration package.
- Accommodation allowance to support your stay.
- Shuttle bus services from Reefton and Greymouth to the site.
- Comprehensive private healthcare coverage for all employees.
- Continuous training and professional growth opportunities.
- A workplace culture that prioritizes safety and supports employee wellbeing.
- Access to employee wellbeing and assistance programs.
