Job summary
This role is for a Product Consultant focused on PLM functional expertise and Teamcenter in the automotive sector. The position centers on improving product lifecycle management workflows, partnering with cross-functional teams, and supporting innovation while staying aligned with industry expectations and business goals. It is a hybrid opportunity based in Chennai.
Responsibilities
- Work with teams across functions to review PLM workflows and refine them so they align with industry practices and organizational objectives.
- Offer specialized input on Teamcenter features to support effective adoption and use across departments.
- Create and execute approaches that improve PLM platforms and strengthen efficiency in product development activities.
- Evaluate current PLM operations in depth, identify gaps, and recommend practical improvements.
- Manage Teamcenter setup and tailoring to match specific business needs.
- Run workshops and training programs to help stakeholders understand PLM best practices and system capabilities.
- Track PLM system performance, confirm stable operation, and resolve issues quickly when they appear.
- Coordinate with IT teams to support deployment and ongoing upkeep of PLM software solutions.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and user support to improve productivity and system experience.
- Review market shifts and new technologies to suggest solutions that support strategic business direction.
- Work with automotive domain specialists to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Bridge communication between technical groups and business teams to keep project execution aligned and efficient.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by using data-backed insights to enhance PLM processes.
Requirements
- Strong practical knowledge of PLM concepts and Teamcenter, with clear capability in integration and optimization.
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry and familiarity with its specific operational needs.
- Sound problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to emerging tools, technologies, and industry changes.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Ability to stay organized and manage several priorities or projects at the same time.
- Certified Teamcenter Professional and PLM Functional Knowledge Certification required.
