Job description

About the Role

Netflix’s Content and Business Products organization builds the technology that supports content operations end to end, from early planning through streaming launch. Within the Content Foundations group, teams develop both user-facing applications and internal developer platforms that keep data dependable and workflows efficient across the content lifecycle.

This position is for a technical product leader who will shape the direction of application development platforms. The focus is to lower engineering complexity by hiding infrastructure details, introducing AI-native capabilities into core systems, and creating a smoother software development experience. The work helps turn fragmented tools into a unified paved road that speeds up innovation at large scale.

This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, developer experience, and massive-scale content delivery, influencing how content is created, managed, and distributed to Netflix members around the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the long-term strategy and roadmap for foundational application platforms, balancing immediate engineering needs with future platform evolution, including AI-powered development workflows.
  • Improve the daily experience of developers by finding and removing sources of friction, and by delivering managed runtimes and platform services that let teams build complex stateful applications without owning the infrastructure beneath them.
  • Promote a no-operations mindset by ensuring platform tools absorb operational complexity wherever possible.
  • Work with engineering leaders across Content and Studio to move teams from older systems onto modern platform solutions.
  • Define success metrics for platform reliability, usage, and adoption, and use those measures to show gains in engineering productivity.
  • Serve as the main voice for the application developer platform, including writing strategy documents and presenting the team’s direction to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 7 years of product management experience focused on technical developer platforms or workflow automation products at scale.
  • Strong technical understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and the software development lifecycle, with the ability to discuss architectural trade-offs with engineering leadership.
  • A product mindset centered on developers, with an understanding that internal platforms must reduce context switching and feel genuinely useful to their users.
  • The ability to connect platform capabilities to broader business outcomes and strategic goals.
  • Hands-on experience launching or integrating AI-enabled developer tools such as coding assistants or AI agents, or using AI to improve workflow automation.
  • Proven influence skills, including the ability to align cross-functional partners and drive organization-wide adoption without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to a wide range of audiences.
