About Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC)

Established as a central cultural institution at the World Trade Center site, the Perelman Performing Arts Center inaugurated in Fall 2023 to present diverse theater, dance, music, and chamber opera projects in its three adaptable, intimate venues. The center's mission is to build connections by fostering relationships between exceptional artists and diverse communities across New York City's five boroughs, celebrating creativity and dialogue through dynamic performances and conversations.

Position Overview

PAC NYC is recruiting a part-time Production HR Assistant to support the Production Payroll Specialist and Administration Manager within the Production Department. This role primarily focuses on HR onboarding duties related to weekly payroll, alongside occasional responsibilities such as petty cash management and invoice tracking. The role expects up to 10 working hours each week, particularly during peak onboarding periods from September through November.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate onboarding processes for new production department hires, guiding them through paperwork and digital platforms.
  • Verify I-9 documentation and identity proofs for new employees.
  • Input employee data into the ADP system under JV8 or DWU categories as applicable.
  • Organize and maintain employee records within the People and Culture archival system.
  • Cross-validate information with the Curtain Time scheduling tool for accuracy.
  • Support the weekly payroll workflow, including adding non-union and Teamster staff to Curtain Time.
  • Help prepare payroll spreadsheets specific to DWU employees.
  • Contribute to monthly benefit reporting tasks for Production Labor unions when assigned.
  • Conduct petty cash counting and track expenses as required.
  • Monitor and document invoice processing tasks as delegated.
  • Perform additional related administrative tasks as necessary.

Compensation and Work Schedule

This role is hourly and non-exempt, compensated at a base rate of $31.50 per hour, with overtime remunerated at 1.5 times the regular hourly pay beyond 40 hours weekly. Work hours will fluctuate based on onboarding volume, estimated at approximately 5 to 10 hours per week during high-demand periods, with a required mutually scheduled training week before commencement.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

PAC NYC ardently supports a workplace culture valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applications from individuals dedicated to fostering such an environment are strongly encouraged, especially from traditionally marginalized groups. Employment decisions are merit-based without discrimination on protected grounds as per legal standards.
