Job description

About the Role

Window Seat creates vacation wardrobes for those who cherish the journey. The Production Lead will oversee the entire fabric journey—from sourcing through processing, printing, stitching, and shipping—ensuring every step is punctual and meets quality standards. This position requires full-time presence at the Vadodara office because of hands-on coordination with vendors and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fabric sourcing and quality control by liaising with fabric suppliers and verifying quality against company standards before moving forward.
  • Coordinate with dyeing and processing vendors to ensure accurate shades, color fastness, and successful wash and rub tests, catching potential issues early.
  • Oversee printing and stitching vendors—providing clear briefs, tracking sample cycles, and approving only when the print placement, finish, and fit align with design intent.
  • End-to-end responsibility for the time-and-action (TNA) calendar including sample approvals, bulk production progress, and quality checks before dispatch, proactively identifying risks to avoid delays.
  • Maintain consistent, clear, and reassuring communication with customers regarding product status to avoid surprises or silence.

Quality Standards

The role demands rigorous attention to quality—no tolerance for off shades, misaligned seams, or anything less than perfect fastness results. Upholding quality is as critical as meeting delivery timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Apparel/Fashion Merchandising, or from reputed fashion institutes (NIFT, NID, or equivalent), with enough knowledge to interpret lab dip reports and manage vendors effectively.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience handling production or merchandising coordination with multiple vendors, ideally in apparel or home textiles.
  • Demonstrated experience owning critical path and TNA calendars—anticipating and addressing issues ahead of time.
  • Strong communication skills to calmly and firmly manage vendor delays and customer concerns.
  • Exceptional attention to detail aligned with brand expectations.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of fastness, shrinkage, and GSM testing standards.
  • Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and Clo3D.
  • Experience working in D2C or export-focused apparel brands.
  • Competency with Excel or Google Sheets for production tracking; experience with ERP systems like Zoho is advantageous.
  • Ability to take initiative beyond assigned tasks and adapt flexibly to evolving roles.

Work Environment & Culture

At Window Seat, we're a small, dynamic team without a dedicated department for this role. The Production Lead operates independently, taking ownership of outcomes and developing processes from scratch when needed. The work requires flexibility such as contacting vendors late in the day or innovating workflows.

Life at Window Seat

  • Fun yet professional atmosphere where work is taken seriously but the team remains lighthearted.
  • Meticulous focus on details to ensure final products are effortless and high quality.
  • Every vendor and customer is treated with personal care and respect.
