Role Overview
This Project Manager position entails leading the successful delivery of projects in a complex, operational context. You will be accountable for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and to the expected quality levels. The role involves coordinating diverse teams and stakeholders, overseeing detailed planning, execution, and implementation phases. Additionally, you will support change management initiatives, facilitate adoption of new systems and processes, and ensure a smooth transition to routine business operations. This is a 12-month contractual role based onsite in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management, from initiation through to completion.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, governance structures, and progress reports.
- Coordinate efforts among project teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to meet objectives and deliverables.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints, employing strong governance protocols.
- Drive business readiness through change management strategies, communication, and training programs to ensure adoption success.
- Track project milestones, budget adherence, and deliverable quality.
- Organise workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions across business and technical groups.
- Align project results with organizational strategic goals and ensure measurable benefits are realised.
- Provide senior leadership with regular reporting, actionable insights, and recommendations.
- Promote ongoing improvement by embedding best practice standards in project delivery.
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects and achieving successful business results.
- Proven expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating resources within dynamic, evolving environments.
- Strong skills in project planning, governance, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience with organizational change, business transformation, or technology-driven initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability in business readiness, stakeholder engagement, training delivery, and fostering user adoption.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the aptitude to influence and engage all levels of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on practical and sustainable solutions.
- Capacity to handle shifting priorities and adjust to changing operational demands.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Jira, or equivalents.
- Proactive, accountable, and team-oriented mindset with commitment to high-quality results.
- Experience in large or enterprise-scale project environments is an advantage.
- Professional certifications like PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalents are highly desirable.
