Job description
Overview
Auckland Airport is seeking an experienced contracts professional to help manage a wide range of agreements supporting projects and services across New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport. This role focuses on protecting the organisation’s interests while making sure all contracts are aligned with business goals, legal obligations, and regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate with project managers, legal advisers, and external suppliers to shape contract terms, reduce risk, and keep commercial arrangements running smoothly. The role calls for a sharp eye for detail, strong commercial judgement, and the confidence to build productive working relationships.
The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge of construction and procurement contracts, along with experience handling disputes and resolving contract-related issues. If you’re motivated by contract management and want to contribute to the future of airport operations, this opportunity offers a meaningful place to make an impact.

- Make sure all contracts meet legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards.
- Partner with project teams to understand requirements and ensure contract terms support delivery goals.
- Track contract performance, check compliance, and respond to issues or disputes as they arise.
- Create and roll out contract management processes and policies that improve efficiency.
- Train and support employees on effective contract management practices.
- Keep complete and accurate contract files and supporting records.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Contracts Manager, or in a comparable role, ideally in construction or aviation.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement workflows, and negotiation techniques.
- Well-developed analytical ability and sound judgement for decision-making.
- Clear communication and strong people skills, with the ability to work across varied stakeholder groups.
- High attention to detail, plus strong organisation and time management capabilities.
- Qualifications in law, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Comfortable working independently and also contributing effectively in a team setting.
