Quantity Surveyor

Role overview

SJ Group is hiring a Quantity Surveyor for its West Region, Singapore operations. This is a full-time onsite position focused on managing project costs, tender activities, contract support, and financial administration across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Guide projects from the initial stage through completion, making sure timelines are met and spending stays within the approved budget.
• Develop procurement plans, prepare tender documentation, build cost plans and cost reports, manage tender administration, evaluate submissions, and compile tender recommendation papers.
• Handle variation order reviews, calculate the related cost impacts, prepare monthly financial updates, process progress claims, and close out the final account.
• Partner closely with the project team by providing commercial, cost, and contractual guidance before construction, during execution, and after project completion.

Requirements

• A recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, together with relevant experience in the construction sector.
• Between 1 and 3 years of experience in cost consultancy or contract management.
• Applicants with more extensive relevant experience may be considered for a more senior position.
• Solid technical grounding with strong understanding of both pre-contract and post-contract duties.
• Good knowledge of contract forms and conditions.
• Working familiarity with standard measurement methods such as CEMS, SMM, or equivalent.
• Professional membership with SISV, RICS, and/or AIQS would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with external consultants and clients.
