Job description
Overview
This position supports the Radar Network Manager in overseeing the Bureau's critical weather radar and Wind Profiler assets located throughout Australia. The primary focus is to ensure effective lifecycle management of these radar systems to deliver reliable weather radar data for Australian communities and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and report on the performance of radar assets.
- Enhance radar asset information within the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS).
- Implement maintenance programs into EAMS to improve tracking and maintenance quality by field technicians.
- Collaborate regularly with radar field personnel nationally to gather insights and drive consistency in radar maintenance approaches.
- Coordinate efforts between engineering and field teams, including overseeing software upgrades across the radar network.
- Support management of risks, budgets, asset renewal plans, and project proposals as needed.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Experience supporting radar or comparable technical systems.
- Familiarity with asset management principles and practices.
- Process-driven, meticulous, and proactive with minimal need for supervision.
- Strong coordination skills to facilitate collaboration across teams.
- Effective communicator with aptitude in preparing technical documentation.
