Role Summary
The Region Sales Manager is tasked with overseeing sales outcomes across a multi-state area by expanding distribution, guiding distributor performance, and securing key strategic accounts. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this role is heavily trade-focused, holding full responsibility for territory sales figures. Responsibilities include managing distributor collaborations, driving priority brand visibility and sales, and adapting national marketing campaigns into localized strategies that achieve market success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Achieve regional targets for net sales value (NSV), points of distribution (POD), and distributor blended gross profit percentage.
- Maintain and nurture distributor partnerships, overseeing general sales meetings, promotional programming, and field execution.
- Expand points of distribution and depletions specifically for key brands.
- Collaborate on strategic calls and activations within chain accounts throughout the region.
- Produce precise sales forecasts, manage advertising and promotion (A&P) budgets, track travel and entertainment (T&E) expenses within plan, and communicate market insights to leadership.
Key Activities
- Conduct distributor ride-alongs and field visits.
- Lead general sales meetings and facilitate brand launches.
- Perform monthly business reviews with distributor partners.
- Engage in key account discussions and activation events.
- Carry out market visits and competitor analysis.
- Implement incentive programs for distributor representatives.
- Regularly report forecasting and expense details.
Candidate Profile
- Deeply engaged in trade activities and motivated by in-market victories alongside distributor teams and accounts.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented in managing various sales programs and executing with precision.
- Competitive mindset, committed to securing every distribution point and owning territory results fully.
- A collaborator who treats distributor representatives as partners, maintaining transparent communication about territorial dynamics.
- Innovative and tactical in devising localized initiatives and incentive deployments that drive business growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in beverage alcohol sales.
- Proven ability managing distributors across multiple states.
- Hands-on expertise in three-tier distribution systems and account-level sales execution.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region for distributor rides, market visits, and key account meetings; occasional travel for national and team gatherings.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience as a Regional Sales Manager.
- Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges between $115,000 and $125,000 annually, depending on experience and location, complemented by a 20% target yearly bonus.
