About the Role

PE Global is seeking a Research Analyst on contract to support a prominent multinational pharmaceutical company located in Cork. This position involves collaborative scientific experimentation aligned with the Bioprocess Centre of Excellence (BCoE) or site strategies, aiding the commercial and clinical product pipelines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Under guidance from scientists and project leads, execute established protocols to support BCoE research activities involving lab-scale upstream processes within a multiproduct laboratory environment.
  • Rapidly acquire and apply core scientific skills and principles, including batch, fed-batch, and perfusion bioprocess techniques.
  • Detect routine experimental discrepancies and resolve issues by adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch processing documents (BPDs).
  • Ensure precise, reliable data capture and uphold laboratory quality through strict compliance with safety norms and SOPs.
  • Conduct daily mammalian cell culture expansion and monitor bioreactors, including sampling and in-process testing using standard bioprocess analytical instruments.
  • Familiarity with microbial cell expansion and fermentation processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of downstream purification processes is also beneficial.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Science or Engineering disciplines.
  • At least 12 months of experience in the pharmaceutical sector or equivalent robust laboratory background.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks relevant to the role and insights into current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) governing biologics production.
