Role overview

The College of Nurses of Ontario is hiring a Research Analyst to join its Research team in Toronto. This is an existing vacancy at job level 6, reporting to the Director, Analytics and Research. The role contributes to complex research and evaluation work that supports the organization’s Research Office and helps generate insights on nursing regulation in Ontario.

What you will do

  • Assist research officers with research and evaluation assignments, including reviewing literature, creating research tools, gathering information, running qualitative and quantitative analyses, and documenting findings.
  • Help manage research inquiries and maintain working relationships with external and internal partners.
  • Provide administrative coordination for research and evaluation tasks such as abstract submissions, research ethics board materials, webinar logistics, and tracking incoming requests.
  • Contribute to reports, papers, and presentations that share research outcomes with both internal audiences and outside stakeholders.

What the organization is looking for

  • A completed bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or social science discipline such as Health Policy, Psychology, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science.
  • At least 1 year of experience in research and/or evaluation work.
  • Practical experience with quantitative analysis using statistical software such as R, Python, SPSS, or SAS, and/or qualitative analysis using tools like NVivo.
  • Strong analytical thinking, including the ability to choose suitable methods for data collection and analysis.
  • Careful attention to detail with the ability to create reliable, accurate, and well-organized work products.
  • Clear communication skills for clarifying research needs, sharing information appropriately, and working in line with privacy and information-access rules.
  • Ability to analyze data deeply, apply advanced statistical techniques, and interpret results.
  • Experience turning data into understandable reports and visualizations that highlight patterns, trends, and key insights.
  • Alignment with the organization’s values of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and well-being.

Compensation and application details

The hiring range is $108,073 to $114,845, and the full salary range is $108,073 to $129,688. Applications need to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on the day before the closing date.
