About the Role
Join the lively team at Tienda Pachamama as a Retail Sales Assistant, supporting our shop located at 179A Archers Rd, Northshore. The position involves working on weekends, primarily Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional responsibilities during evening events. Punctuality and professionalism are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the shop at the scheduled times and managing daily store operations.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Maintaining the store’s presentation and adhering to visual merchandising standards.
- Providing customers with accurate product information including features and prices.
- Keeping racks fully stocked and handling merchandise returns efficiently.
- Complying with workplace safety and food handling regulations.
- Informing customers about current discounts and promotional offers.
- Reporting customer feedback directly to the Store Manager.
- Serving coffee and food items to patrons.
Mandatory Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in sales or a customer service-related role.
- Fluent in Spanish and excellent command of English with strong communication skills to build customer trust.
- Competent in basic mathematics and familiar with Word and Excel.
- Holder of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid work visa suitable for employment in New Zealand.
- Clean criminal record with no legal infringements.
- Strong personal presentation standards.
- Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest as required.
- Dependability to adhere to assigned work hours and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or enthusiasm for yerba mate tea.
- Understanding of Spanish and Latin American culture and traditions.
Working Hours and Additional Information
The role requires commitment for a total of 12 hours each week, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Applicants must be able to work weekends reliably. Assistance may be requested during night events at times.
