Role overview
This is a full-time, on-site sanitation position at Soleterra d'Italia’s facility in Acme, Alberta. The job centers on keeping the site clean, hygienic, and aligned with food-industry sanitation and safety standards.
What you will do
- Keep the facility, equipment, and work areas clean and sanitary.
- Carry out sanitation tasks in line with the company’s established procedures and schedules.
- Clean and disinfect rooms and machinery using high-pressure hoses, approved chemicals, and other supplied tools.
- Support compliance with food safety requirements throughout the site.
- Identify sanitation issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Help maintain a safe working environment for the team.
- Follow daily safety targets and workplace sanitation goals.
Skills and qualifications
- Good knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Ability to communicate well and work closely with coworkers and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn sanitation and cleaning methods, or prior experience in sanitation within food production.
- Understanding of food and beverage production processes is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistent adherence to safety instructions.
Safety and workplace expectations
- Use proper Injury and Illness Prevention Program practices to help maintain a safe workplace.
- Follow chemical-handling safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures when operating around equipment.
- Work around sanitation chemicals and understand their purpose and use.
- Personal protective equipment will be provided for chemical exposure-related tasks.
- Be prepared to clean production areas that support daily processing of meat products.
- Maintain compliance with the company’s cleaning routines, including the Seven Steps of Sanitation.
