Senior Data Analyst - Banking

Overview

This position seeks a seasoned Data Analyst with expertise in banking sector data management, particularly in large-scale transformation and migration programs. The role demands proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in data quality assessment and migration initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

• Extract, profile, and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and completeness during source-to-target mapping.
• Develop and maintain data quality frameworks and data lineage documentation to support governance.
• Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to communicate complex data insights in a clear and simplified manner.
• Participate actively in agile project environments, preparing thorough documentation including data dictionaries and test cases.
• Utilize BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to visualize and report data findings.

Skills and Experience

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with Teradata database systems and related tools.
• Background in banking domain data, preferably with exposure to institutions like Westpac.
• Familiarity with customer, accounts, and transactions datasets commonly found in financial contexts.
• Strong stakeholder management skills enabling effective liaison between data teams and business units.

Additional Information

This role is based onsite in Sydney, Australia, on a contract basis. Candidates must be adept at handling complex data migration projects and comfortable working in a cross-functional team setting.
