Key Responsibilities

• Lead design management efforts on major building and infrastructure projects in the Middle East, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.
• Interface effectively with clients and lead the technical quality assurance of all project-related design matters.
• Manage remote design teams based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, overseeing design execution for assigned projects.
• Provide technical expertise for design materials and deliverables within Buro Happold's project scope.
• Direct BIM-driven design development and foster collaborative design environments.
• Handle risks, issues, and project design change requests to ensure timely completion.
• Oversee RIBA design stages for individual projects and masterplan developments and review design submissions for gateway approvals.
• Engage in value engineering and validate project costs.
• Support Project Managers and Directors with overall deliverables through RFP creation for design consultants and related tasks.
• Prepare weekly and monthly design progress reports and maintain client communications on design issues.
• Develop efficient organizational structures and decision-making frameworks for project implementation.
• Define optimal design and delivery processes including client interaction levels, resource allocation, design cycles, assurance protocols, communication, and packaging methods.
• Assist Project Planners to create schedules, analyze dependencies, and assess phasing strategies.
• Evaluate project progress to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
• Delegate tasks efficiently among project team members.
• Lead feasibility studies and oversee consultant and sub-consultant selection.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of Project Design Management (PDM) policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced in client interaction and comprehensive understanding of the design process.
• Highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient in BIM environments using tools such as Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks.
• Strong communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Positive attitude with resilience and willingness to handle extensive workflows.
• Demonstrated mentoring and coaching abilities.
• Efficient time management and prioritization skills with a customer service focus.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to author complex reports and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Excellent interpersonal, multitasking, IT, and mathematical capabilities.
• Strong adaptability and stress management.
