Senior Designer

About the Role

Our client, an established beauty and professional haircare brand, is looking to hire a Graphic Designer on a freelance contract basis. This is a highly hands-on design position focused on conceptualizing and executing visual assets, not centered on art direction or photo production. The designer will work independently from initial concept through to final production and will enjoy a diverse range of projects, including print invitations, shoot storyboards, and digital content. This role involves a hybrid working arrangement with three days in-office in New York, NY, and two days remote, working full-time at 40 hours per week for a duration of up to two years.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver graphic design support across product lines, websites, and marketing collateral.
• Create packaging and promotional designs from concept through all stages of mechanicals, comps, and final production.
• Engage in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional design workflows as required.
• Assist with copywriting and ideation for advertising campaigns, including naming and tagline creation for new products.
• Collaborate closely with the Art Director and creative team to ensure alignment with brand vision and creative strategy.
• Operate independently throughout entire concept-to-production cycles without dedicated production assistance.
• Manage a broad spectrum of project sizes, from minor assets to large campaign deliverables.
• Maintain proactive communication, promptly identifying potential issues and participating actively in real-time feedback processes.
• Produce presentation decks in PowerPoint and contribute to animated graphic elements where relevant.

Required Qualifications

• Between 1 and 3+ years of experience in graphic and package design.
• Demonstrated expertise in fashion, beauty, or retail design; experience in the salon industry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Premiere.
• Strong skills in branding and retail design, supported by a polished professional portfolio.
• Self-driven, action-oriented, with capacity to work independently from concept development through final output.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Adept at managing multiple projects of varying scopes simultaneously.
• High production awareness and meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with PowerPoint and animation capabilities are a plus.

Compensation and Additional Details

This opportunity is an ongoing freelance contract position compensated at a rate of $80 per hour. The role offers exposure to an engaging and dynamic team environment within the beauty industry.
