Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Manager - Proposals (Railways) spearheads the creation and strategic planning to secure complex bids involving civil works (including earthworks and structures) and railway track works (both ballasted and ballast-less). This role demands leading a specialized team, assigning tasks effectively to meet deadlines, and collaborating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance and process adherence in bid submissions and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement winning proposal strategies.
  • Effectively assign resources to optimize performance and meet timelines.
  • Guarantee prompt, high-quality proposal deliveries.
  • Assist in negotiations to secure successful contracts.
  • Ensure full adherence to bid specifications, enhancing proposal success rates and supporting organizational growth through tendering.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams: aligning closely with Design to meet bid requirements, working with Supply Chain Management to benchmark current prices for materials and services, and collaborating with suppliers, OEMs, system providers, and subcontractors for competitive sourcing.
  • Lead and unify team members, fostering consensus and making informed decisions that establish market benchmarks.
  • Manage and mentor the proposal team by guiding activities and providing technical feedback to enhance skills.

Qualification

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute is required.
