Job description

Role Overview

Lead the company's most critical and intricate program involving engineering and manufacturing for a major weapon system. You'll serve as the primary liaison with the Government program office, managing deliverables and progress for a high-profile project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a multifaceted program with several sub-programs and multiple program managers.
  • Manage the entire program management organization including engineering, technical staff, finance, contracting, and procurement functions.
  • Create and implement program plans, budgeting, scheduling, and execution strategies.
  • Execute defined program and technical tasks within scope of responsibility.
  • Navigate acquisition policies and advise senior leadership on program and business development tactics.
  • Integrate knowledge across disciplines like engineering, logistics, financial management, contracting, and configuration management to ensure cohesive program delivery within cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Translate customer and technical requirements into practical solutions considering technical, timing, and budget constraints while identifying and managing risks.
  • Provide senior management with program status updates and critical decisions information.
  • Ensure contractual obligations and concerns are met and address timely submission of all necessary reports and deliverables.
  • Participate in company-wide program reviews and communicate metrics on cost, schedule, and performance effectively.
  • Mentor lower-level program managers and offer solutions across program management and business operations.
  • Support proposal and pricing efforts, potentially engaging in capture management responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in a technical, business, or related field is mandatory.
  • Preference for candidates with Department of Defense Acquisition University Program Management certification, PMP, or an equivalent Program Management degree.
  • At least 20 years of program management or related experience in Government or Industry settings.
  • Advanced expertise in program management concepts with the capability to design, communicate, and implement comprehensive program baselines.
  • Comfortable preparing presentations and briefing senior military officials.
  • Experience with Air Force nuclear enterprise, aircraft sustainment, or maintenance repair and overhaul programs is advantageous.

Security and Citizenship

  • Candidate must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance; an active Secret clearance is preferred.

Compensation

The salary range is between $130,000 and $160,000 annually, competitive with industry standards and commensurate with experience.
