Shipping & Receiving Manager

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead our shipping and distribution operations. This role entails developing, executing, and overseeing an efficient shipping strategy to ensure shipments are secure, accurate, timely, and cost-effective. Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, you will manage all aspects of the shipping process and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement overarching shipping strategies aligned with company goals.
• Utilize shipping management software to coordinate and prioritize shipping tasks effectively.
• Supervise the entire shipping workflow to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate shipping operations.
• Compile and deliver KPI reports to management for insight and decision-making.
• Propose improvements to optimize shipping procedures and reduce costs.
• Verify accuracy of labels and barcodes before dispatch.
• Lead and manage the shipping department team members.
• Develop and control the shipping and distribution budget.
• Build and sustain productive relationships with internal teams (warehouse, purchasing) and external partners (vendors, suppliers).
• Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers and carriers.
• Identify operational challenges and swiftly implement effective solutions.
• Prepare detailed reports for upper management review.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 8 years' experience in shipping management or a comparable role.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, shipping protocols, and documentation.
• Proficiency in using shipping and distribution software tools.
• Experience managing budgets and generating operational reports.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative team player with effective time management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related fields is preferred.
• Ability to successfully pass a Level II background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
