Job description
About XYZ Reality
XYZ Reality is the innovator behind the world's first engineering-grade Augmented Reality solution tailored for the construction sector. This technology integrates with The Atom — a smart, site-safe headset/hardhat — to ensure projects meet delivery schedules and budgets efficiently. With a workforce exceeding 100 employees across the UK, US, and Europe, XYZ collaborates with mission-critical organizations and construction firms to successfully complete large-scale projects.
Role Overview
We are hiring Site Engineers to join our team immediately in Athlone, with potential openings soon in Limerick. As a Site Engineer/Surveyor, you will utilize the Atom device to significantly reduce construction and design errors by visualizing design models as holograms on-site. Your work involves identifying and reporting clashes and discrepancies during installation by comparing holographic models with the physical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections using The Atom AR headset to verify installations against BIM models.
- Operate total station equipment to set and survey control points.
- Communicate with clients effectively and prepare inspection reports.
- Collaborate in meetings to coordinate daily workflow with contractors.
- Process and validate collected inspection data for accuracy and reliability.
- Report findings to the Field Operations Manager, ensuring timely completion of required inspections.
- Work closely with contractors to plan weekly inspection forecasts aligned with the master construction schedule to prevent installation errors.
- Obtain and prepare the latest approved Revit models for export into HoloSite software.
Candidate Profile and Expertise
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a field engineer or surveyor, preferably familiar with total station or laser scanning equipment.
- Preferred qualifications include construction, land surveying, civil engineering, geospatial, or geodetic engineering, although not mandatory.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, ambition, and keen interest in emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with 3D software such as Revit, Navisworks, or BIM platforms is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is a must.
- Applicants must have a clean criminal record and be willing to undergo background and drug screening due to project security protocols.
Benefits and Additional Information
- Competitive remuneration structured around a 40-hour workweek.
- 25 days of paid annual leave plus public holidays.
