Position Summary
This contract role as a GitHub Contributor involves expert coding, debugging, and feature development with multiple programming languages including Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, and TypeScript. Candidates will engage in resolving complex software issues, optimizing legacy code, and enhancing technical documentation to support AI training datasets.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide high-level code contributions and debugging expertise across multiple languages.
- Diagnose and fix intricate software bugs and alleviate performance problems in varied codebases.
- Design and add new scalable and maintainable features aligned with software development best practices.
- Improve and streamline existing legacy code to boost clarity and efficiency.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation detailing problem-solving and coding decisions for AI training purposes.
- Assess and verify code contributions from peers to ensure correctness and clarity.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive practical experience with at least one of these languages: Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Proven skill in debugging complex software systems and implementing performance optimizations.
- Background in refactoring large-scale codebases and updating legacy systems.
- Demonstrated success in delivering impactful features through all project phases in cross-functional teams.
Additional Information
- Compensation range: $50 to $150 per hour.
- Weekly commitment expected: 10 to 40 hours.
- Fully remote position based in New Zealand.
