About the Role

Tesla is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the AI Applications team at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. This role involves developing full-stack applications that enhance HR operations, leveraging cutting-edge AI capabilities. Interns will work independently on impactful projects, with the opportunity to see their code deployed and utilized by thousands of employees globally. The internship is for 6 months and is a full-time, onsite position.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack software solutions to address critical HR challenges with quantifiable results.
  • Take full ownership of projects from initial problem definition through coding, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Incorporate advanced AI and Large Language Model (LLM) functionalities into production-ready applications to tackle intricate business issues.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders, data engineers, and recruitment teams to identify needs and build effective solutions.
  • Adhere to robust software engineering principles, including version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and containerization techniques.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in building and deploying applications used by others, whether through personal projects, academic tools, freelance work, or open-source contributions, using any technology stack.
  • Solid foundation in programming principles and a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Proficiency with web development frameworks and stacks, such as TypeScript, React, or similar technologies.
  • A keen understanding of business impact and the ability to prioritize development efforts accordingly.
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with a strong drive to initiate and advance projects autonomously.
  • Hands-on experience in developing applications utilizing LLMs and AI agents.
  • Excellent command of the English language; knowledge of German is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as database systems like PostgreSQL, is beneficial.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is considered a plus.
