Overview
This role focuses on leading Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to build and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure supporting AI-driven products at Google. The successful candidate will manage and mentor SRE teams devoted to applying secure-by-default principles within the Cloud AI ecosystem, shaping technical strategy to tackle major security challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, develop, and grow a skilled team of SRE professionals focused on securing AI workloads and infrastructure.
- Establish and execute the technical vision and strategic roadmap to mitigate critical security risks across Cloud AI offerings.
- Lead by example through delivering quality technical work, coaching team members, and fostering credibility.
- Coordinate global on-call duties using a follow-the-sun support model across different continents.
- Develop and implement software solutions enhancing the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Google services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least eight years of professional experience in software development with one or more programming languages.
- Minimum of three years managing teams or people.
- Minimum of three years leading software projects.
- At least three years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience designing and implementing security controls for autonomous AI workloads and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of security principles and risk management, with expertise in identifying systemic risks within emerging AI and machine learning ecosystems.

Additional Information
Compensation includes a base salary ranging from €150,000 to €154,000 annually for Ireland, with a 20% bonus target, equity, and other benefits.
