About the Role

This position focuses on growing steel trading business across Kenya by uncovering high-value opportunities in products such as HRC, CRC, GI, and PPGI. The role is centered on building market presence and driving commercial growth in the region.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, technical discussions, negotiations, deal closure, and ongoing account support.
• Study the Kenyan market, including demand trends, import rules, and competitor activity, to shape effective local sales plans.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance teams to handle customs requirements in Kenya and keep deliveries running smoothly.
• Strengthen relationships with current customers while actively pursuing new business to increase market share and achieve aggressive sales goals.
• Attend major trade fairs and industry forums in Kenya to build the company’s visibility and reputation.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
• English will be used as the working language.
• At least 3 years of experience in steel international trading, along with a solid background in steel import and export operations.
• Strong commercial judgment, excellent negotiation skills, and an established network in the Kenyan steel market are important.
• Candidates should be self-driven, able to work independently, and willing to travel frequently, including occasional regional travel.
