Team and Role Overview

Within the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division, our teams operate autonomously and closely with customers to deliver exactly what is needed. The Supply Network Quality (SNQ) organization focuses on elevating the quality standards of our supplier base to achieve world-class performance in purchased parts quality.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer in the SNQ India team, you will play a critical role in working collaboratively with supplier partners to ensure premium product quality. We value diversity, respect individuality, and are committed to your professional growth and motivation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage quality assurance for axles and transmission component suppliers, ensuring parts meet design specifications.
  • Participate early in supplier selection processes.
  • Ensure Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) aligns with project timelines and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review and lead APQP deliverables; approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and tooling.
  • Secure capacity and ramp-up plans, implementing firewall and pre-launch controls to guarantee smooth start of production (SOP).
  • Address quality issues from Volvo plants promptly, ensuring containment and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead initiatives focused on sustainability and digitalization within Supply Network Quality.
  • Drive evaluation and continuous improvement of suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Automobile Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in supplier quality within the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in axles, transmissions, and powertrain components manufacturing.
  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset with solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent networking, collaboration, communication, and analytical capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to supplier locations and engage with partners.
