Supply Chain Coordinator

About the Role

Join Biffa as a Supply Chain Coordinator and play a pivotal role in supporting the daily management and administration of supply chain operations within Specialist Services. This position focuses on effective supplier relations, managing disposal routes, and optimizing supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role requires close collaboration with sales, technical, operational, and contract management teams to resolve complex waste stream challenges, promote strong decision-making, and drive continuous improvements in supply chain compliance and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage negotiations with suppliers and disposal sites to achieve optimal value across various waste streams.
• Evaluate, streamline, and consolidate the supply chain network to reduce costs, standardize suppliers, and decrease supplier count.
• Facilitate the onboarding, approval, and integration of new suppliers ensuring compliance and operational suitability.
• Examine third-party expenditures to uncover opportunities for internal service provision and boost profitability.
• Assist in pricing strategies, tender submissions, and development of new business opportunities through market research and cost analysis.
• Contribute to the formulation of supplier agreements and waste stream specific contracts to maximize value while managing cost escalations.
• Maintain strong supply chain governance with oversight of supplier processes, compliance documents, audits, and system data management.
• Work alongside technical, commercial, and operational teams to identify innovative solutions for challenging waste streams and enhance service delivery.
• Provide coordination and stakeholder support within the supply chain and actively engage in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and business growth.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or a related coordination role is required.
• Excellent organizational abilities with aptitude for managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams.
• High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and maintenance of supply chain information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, capable of leveraging data to aid reporting and decision-making processes.
• Collaborative mindset to work productively with technical, commercial, and operational departments.
• Proactive problem-solver with a focus on identifying areas for continual improvement.
• Experience in waste management or a related sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
